Celluloid Tunes # 10: The Great Fantasy Adventure Episode (3rd International Edition)

With The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013) right around the corner, the second film in the Hobbit trilogy, we dedicate an entire episode to film scores from the fantasy and adventure genres in this third international edition. We cover famous franchises like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Narnia and Indiana Jones, but also several less known gems. Bold and beautiful, epic and melodic, this is music that goes straight for the heart among lavish surroundings and strange creatures. Is it geeky ‘fanboy’ fodder? Sure, we proudly admit that. But it’s a very worthwhile hour of music, whatever your preferences may be.

Please share this episode in your social media and of course — let us know your own favourite fantasy/adventure scores. Our episode doesn’t even skim the surface. You can also e-mail us at tjhaga@celluloidtunes.no

Thank you for making this blog/site available. My wife and I enjoy film music as the “new” symphonic music of today, and always look forward to new film scores as they become available.

Thanks for the comments, David. I cannot promise you and your wife episodes in English all the time, unfortunately, but we do have them ever so often.

Good job Thor! And yes, the reference to the Telarc / Kunzel CD was a nice reference. Even when the podcasts aren’t in English, your music choices make for an entertaining listen, do keep up the nice work of promoting film music !

  3. Kjempebra lyttestoff som vanlig. Keep it up 😉

Hei.

      Hei Sondre,

Tusen takk for tilbakemelding!
