Celluloid Tunes # 23: Cliff Martinez in Ghent (8th International Edition)

martinez3

During this year’s edition of the World Soundtrack Awards in Ghent, Belgium, we had the opportunity to sit down with American composer Cliff Martinez, previously of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, now a famous film composer with a longstanding relationship to director Steven Soderbergh and a burgeoning collaboration with Danish director Nicolas Winding Rrefn, among others. In this episode, we present the interview with clips from some of his most iconic works – often in a textural, experimental idiom.
