For the fourth year in a row, we pick our top 10 favourite scores of the year. While there weren’t a lot of big Hollywood scores that impressed us very much, there were quite a few ‘alternative’ approaches and especially electronic landscapes that really stood out. We do encourage everyone to give us their own favourites in the comments field.
Hi Thor, I listened to your podcast. You have a different list than mine, you really like and appreciate electronic scores. The Handmaiden is the only score we both have on the list. Here is my list:

We do have SOME overlap, in addition to THE HANDMAIDEN. Both PASSENGERS and THE YOUNG MESSIAH were among my runner-ups, and I also liked FANTASTIC BEASTS (albeit slightly uneven compared to the brilliant sound clips that were released before the soundtrack).
You’re right that I like electronic scores just as much as I do orchestral scores. 🙂
