This second part covers Markham, Checkmate and especially Alcoa Premiere, which boasts some of his most impressive work for the medium — all of it unreleased.

It’s nice to hear in Williams’ early works the variety for which Goldsmith remained so well known. Johnny got pigeonholed – and good for us with most of that, as he was great at what he was good at – but in these shows, he’s all over the map, in the best of ways.
