Per tradition, we give you our 10 favourite scores of the preceding year. We often pride ourselves in having an eclectic list that encompasses not only mainstream Hollywood fare, but also under-the-radar gems, and 2022 is no exception. Ranging from psychedelia to synths to traditional orchestral scores, this once again runs the gamut. Feel free to add your own favourites in the comments field.
I’m curious, what did you mean by, “I’m slowly starting to tire of the ‘Me Too’ and woke-themed films and narratives”? Do you have a problem with how these issues are addressed cinematically or do you have a problem with the ideas themselves?
I wondered if someone picked up on that. My problem is the over-saturation of these issues in practically everything I see these days, whether they address them specifically or ingrain them in narratives about other things. I’m obviously not talking about the ideas themselves.
