That’s not true at all. It’s a restrained and focused score, yes, a score more along the lines of the type of scores/movies Goldsmith did more often, but PRESUMES INNOCENT showed Williams could do it too. Williams constructs a lot of different cues out of his theme, it’s quite a rich score. Perhaps more subdued and subtle than his flashier scores, PRESUMED INNOCENT is more introspect. As I said, it’s one of Williams finest scores of the decade.
