Could be. But I totally agree that Horner had an underrated knack for synths. And I don’t just mean THE NAME OF THE ROSE (which everybody talks about) or the rhythmical figures in something like COMMANDO. I mean all those shimmering, ethereal textures that often pop up in even orchestra-heavy scores, or something like the wonderful and vastly underrated THE LIFE BEFORE HER EYES (2007), with those slow, ephemral, almost impressionistic soundscapes. Nobody seems to like that score, but I LOVE it!
