I’m particularly susceptible to should. I find myself listening to, playing, reading, watching any number of things that get recommended to me, or that see get mentioned repeatedly as “great.” I’ve ended up with way too many scores and cds of other music I know I will probably not like, but my musical curiosity gets the better of me. I feel like I should know. Everyone else seems to like it. Why can’t I? I’ve been doing this dance with a variety of composers for years now. At this point, I’ve kind of done my home work. If I’d just stick to the ones I know I like, I’d probably have a better time.
