I have no actual problem with dissonance or even more noise like music. As mentioned on some other topc I had a related course on University that open my ears how interesting sounds can be with all overlaying rhythms and such.
It all can be done interesting or not interesting. But if you ask me if I can listen to that every day, certainly not. As with any music I need to be in the mood for it. And you still get me with a good melody/theme, so a mixture between both like Young, Goldsmith or Goldenthal often do/did so well it is the best way.
