Yeah, I had a similar reaction to that series. But I’m also a sucker for “closed quarters” scenarios, so I stuck with it. It was okay. I also liked the first season RED EYE (the British series, not the Wes Craven film — although that’s excellent!), but in the second I tuned out.

Similarly, I really, really liked the apocalyptic, set-on-an-airplane series INTO THE NIGHT, but it was cancelled after just two seasons. Perhaps understandable, since the premise is hard to extend. Instead, there was a Turkish spin-off, YAKAMOZ S-245, which sets the same events to a submarine. The odd and glossy beginning of this one is tough to get through, but once it gets going, it’s also somewhat addictive. But also a one-off season. Theoretically, they could expand this universe with more seasons, but I don’t think there’s a budget or market for it.

Actually, I just realized they made a second season of HIJACK too, which premiered back in January. Can’t remember if I saw this, I see so much stuff. But if they did, it surely wasn’t airplane-centered all over again?
