When I replaced my good old Technics System in 2017, it was an important key decision that I still could play CDs. I bought a Technics CD player in 1997, and for 20 years that was the most important source for music in my life; it must have had thousands of playing hours, and I eventually sold it (for small money) in 2018 to someone who wanted it in Italy.
But my new system had to be able to play CDs as well.
I’ve probably played less than a dozen CDs since 2017.
