Tenor sax legend Plas Johnson has died just shy of his 95th birthday. A core member of the Wrecking Crew, Plas played the solo on Mancini’s Pink Panther theme, and is also the featured soloist on Les Baxter’s Jungle Jazz and African Jazz.
