One of the best but often overlooked Elfman scores is the music he composed for Clive Barker’s Nightbreed. I remember I saw the movie way back when it came out, but only when Intrada released the score I revisited the music, and it’s one of his best scores. Melodic, dramatic, but interestingly enough not at all over the top.
