Yes, I think it’s made for a younger audience. Although I didn’t care that much for the film myself, I can perfectly picture it being a gateway in for kids who are just there between childhood and teenage years. Imagine E.T. for kids at that age in 1982, or a film like FLIGHT OF THE NAVIGATOR for my age.
