Since no one currently pays me to go see movies and write reviews, obviously, I try to spend my time selecting movies (or, rarer, TV shows) I hope will be some good. Or at least entertaining. And if I write about a movie (or, much rarer, a film score) at all, I’m usually more motivated to write about something that I enjoy, so I tend to write more “lauding” reviews. On the other hand, once in a while, I see something that is so bad, I feel the need to warn others about it… or to be a voice in the wilderness (mostly) for or (sometimes) against something.
