I often force myself to watch certain series, out of desperation. I do need a fix of science fixion. Just please please PLEASE ban all forms of time travel paradox from now on (including forever future-past present and alterative-futures) and never say quantum to me every again.

Yes, there have been some shows that take this to the extreme lately, and into very complicated areas. Like that German show DARK.

Does Victorian fantasy aka “Steampunk” count as sci-fi? I don’t like most of it with the exceptions of Jules Verne’s novels and the 1960s Wild, Wild West TV series. Most here will recall the critically-reviled 1999 film* (which I’ve not seen), but I wonder if the 1960s series which starred Robert Conrad* ever aired outside the United States.

* I read somewhere that Conrad proudly accepted the film’s “Razzie” awards that year because he thought the film to be an abomination.

“Steampunk” is an interesting sub genre. There is, however, not a lot of it in terms of live action feature films, and of the ones that exist, few are really good. The 1999 WWW is a clunker of a film, but the steampunk element itself is quite good, as far as I remember. That, and the entertaining Bernstein score, might be its only saving grace(s). Never saw the original show.
