Today I also watched EVIL DEAD BURN and I completely agree with what Thor wrote. Watching these splatter scenes with all these visual effects I thought, due to the advanced technical possibilities the director had obviously all the freedom to create every scene, every frame, every image like he wanted to. He had full freedom to choreograph this. And what did he do? Hold on it straight without cut.
A few days ago I watched Argento’s Tenebre on Prime. Sure, the movie is trash, too. But you could see, what big creative effort Argento spent in composing the violent scenes.
It seems like technical possibilities are killing creativity.
