Yeah, I remember when the first CD only releases appeared and I was “forced” to switch to a CD player. Of course CD I find superior.
When I last visted the record shop that primarily has 2nd hand but also new LPs I looked through the new LP soundtrack relaseses and again wondered how expensive these are.
find it interesting that over all this time the prices for CDs remained relatively stable, but the prices for LPs exploded. When CD started at the end of the 80s, the price was at 30 DM, which is about 15 Euro.
For “local” or regular releases it’s indeed true, for example a Caldera release still is at 16.95 Euros over here. But overseas CDs often were already more expensive back then with 34,95/39,95 DM already. Nowadays we generally have that price in Euro.
