Thankfully, he DID curate a wonderful album for OUTLANDER (the first volume), as well as the spin-off album OUTLANDER: BLOOD OF MY BLOOD. These two are all I need from this franchise.

I agree that he is sometimes inconstant in his output, but then that’s probably because he has been extraordinarily successful in his commissions. He has a huge output. Personally, I think the OUTLANDER scores are all brilliant. This is clearly his sweet spot, and each album is markedly different from the last! Impressive. I also love what he did with BSG/CAPRICA. Again, highly original – although fashioned after the original music by Richard Gibbs. After that, his GOD OF WAR music is quite brilliant too, and BLACK SAILS, COLOSSAL, and PERCY JACKSON are excellent. But thereafter, I’m less keen on his style, which is a bit samey, even though he is always a pro, especially drawing on his family’s skills. He wouldn’t be the only composer to fall into a certain style. He can be crediting with making Tina Guo famous for her rock cello!

I will give his Singularity project a wide berth. Fun for him, not my cup of tea.
