Yeah, I have always loved Goldsmith’s Planet of the Apes, it’s one of my all time favorite film scores as well, and amazing that one could write a 12-tone serial composition for a pop culture science-fiction film.
The 12-note theme is everywhere in that score… for example, in the cue “The Search (Continues)” (depending on the album you have), that erratic flute melody from the “Main Title” is played much slower on the strings (and eventually brass) and evokes the seemingly desolate and empty planet…
