Yeah to me CUTTTHROAT ISLAND is actually an intended hommage and not just a lazy pastiche. Even if Debney often may more of a great craftsman and I cannot instantly recognize him like others.

I think especially in film score terms the originality may not in the music itself but the context of the music in the film.
