To me film music is not required to work in the radio or concert hall or otherwise standalone. As much as I like it it is just not made for that purpose. It only should do that if released it as such (here I am in Thor’s camp) 😉 Quite some great film music in the past did certainly (gladly). But of course it is also highly subjective if a certain music works for standalone listening…
