Thanks much, Thor! Yeah, I’ve found that in recent years I’m preferring shorter album run times and my highlights compilations, as it maximizes my listening time. If I only have around 90 minutes of free time, I’d rather listen to two 45 minute albums rather than one 75 minute album or just one 75 minute compilation that has tracks from 15-16 scores.

I’m also not precious about chronological order on score albums either, as I started to find it boring that I would know what cue was next simply by knowing the movie. I don’t want the narrative of the movie to play in my head as I listen, I just want to enjoy the best musical highlights of the score, in an interesting sequence. If the best cue of a score is track 2 or track 10 on any given album, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s a great cue and I really don’t care if it’s in film order. I also don’t want to wait 45 minutes of listening time to reach that great cue!
