Reply To: Intrada's Kickstarter
It is interesting to see how Kickstarter campaigns have developed in the intervening years since this topic started.
I think the debacle of the Jerry Goldsmith books and its Kickstarter campaign has severely dented confidence. But, I think that they are a good way of helping projects along to fruition. (I am a contributor to the Goldsmith books thing but it hasn’t put me off Kickstarter.)
A lot of people want something in return when the contribute money to a Kickstarter rather than providing funds to help a project get off the ground. For me, there’s a couple of Kickstarter projects I supported but, in the end, didn’t really enjoy the end results. But I am still glad that I contributed to it so that the project happened. I didn’t demand my money back.
