Looking Doldinger up on Wikipedia, did you know that he worked with Keith Forsey early on in the latter’s career? That was news to me.
I think he was drummer on Passport’s precedessor ensemble Motherhood where Doldinger used the pseudonym Paul Nero late 60s/early 70s.
