Listening to his rejected STEPMOM score again now (acquired through….uhm, underground sources). A beautiful little gem. Not on the level of Williams’ blissful replacement score, of course, but holds its own. Slightly more jaunty, perhaps, and not quite the autumnal beauty of the JW, but still a shame it never got a commercial release. I’m guessing there are all kinds of rights issues involved. But you do see rejected scores get a release now and then, often under a different name.
