As for Christmas parties, we had one at work last week, but there they served tapas, and not any «ribbe», «pinnekjøtt» or the other traditional Norwegian Christmas dishes. I guess those might be a bit too exotic for many of our foreign employees 😊.

Come to think of it, I might not have any of those myself until Christmas Eve this year. There will be couple of gatherings at some friends’ houses, but that will be mostly eating Christmas cakes and drinking mulled wine («gløgg»), and including, on the 23rd («Little Christmas Eve», as we call it here), the traditional yearly tasting of my friend’s home-made (and very high-viscosity) eggnog 😊.
