By the way, I’ve been listening my way through the clips that Jon provided in the filmography – those titles I wasn’t already familiar with, at least. It’s been an interesting journey. I’m not a big fan of listening to long-track audio rips complete with sound effects and dialogue (or film clips), so some of them, I had to skip around a bit (of course, it’s the only way to hear these, I’m aware of that). But also some cool new discoveries. I was struck again by how gorgeous that “Das Mädchen auf der Treppe” theme is (although that German talk show host that introduced the live performance was rather annoying and intrusive). And dug VISION QUEST, the dark, almost Russian anthem-style undercurrent of RED HEAT, the catchiness of CANYON DREAMS, the almost erotica-infused style of that 90s TATORT episode and the versatile OASIS, just there at the tailend of my favourite TD period.
