Reply To: Greenland 2: Migration (David Buckley)
Saw the film last week. I like the first one, which I’ve seen probably 5 times. This wasn’t quite as good — a lot of the hindrances along the way seemed very random and ‘installed’, and not as ingrained as in the first. But I enjoyed it as a disaster film buff. I didn’t really pay that much attention to the music, though. Your descriptions are tantalizing, so I definintely have to check out the album now. Buckley has done some good stuff in the past – like the choral piece “Bliss”, the best track on the FIFTY SHADES albums. And his version of PAPILLON rivals that of Goldsmith (yes, I know, sacrilege!).
(It’s OK to have threads on individual films/scores/albums here, btw, it’s just that we haven’t had a lot of them so far, except for Disclosure Day (John Williams) and Screenplaying (Mark Knopfler). So it could easily be Greenland 2: Migration (David Buckley), for example, if you wish).
