I’m pretty sure that’s a sentence from Lewis Carroll’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND.

I don’t know anything about cricket (my only connection to it is the Bollywood film LAGAAN from 2001), but doesn’t a match last for days? Plenty of opportunities for film music cameos, I would suspect.

I, too, encounter film music in certain sporting events. Usually it’s played over speakers on the stadium, not as actual music in the broadcast. I’m trying to think of some examples off the top of my head…obviously Vangelis’ CHARIOTS OF FIRE and 1492 have been used many times. It’s one of those things I take note of when it happens, but then forget all about it afterwards.
