Remember samplers? I guess they have become unimportant, or better, they have become today’s suggestion playlists.

I always loved these Varèse Sarabande Anniversary Albums. They provided a really nifty overview over what’s out on the label and the tracks were somewhat losely grouped thematically, to provide good listening flow. I never sought them out but picked them up along the way when I found them cheap at some point and by now I think I have all of them.
