For often rewatch a film must keep a certain ballance of visual originality, complexity, simplicity, depts, entertainment, transparancy etc.

For example, to me it looks like a director like JJ Abbrams tries to achive rewatchability by keeping the tension high with his mystery boxes, visual spectacle, permanently something entertaining is happenning etc. But he exaggerates it and achieves in a way the opposite. The movie falls apart from story to content. In his movies I see too little weight on the story. And I find them “unballanced” in the way I described.
