Christopher Willis seems to have immersed himself in 20th century soviet concert hall music (one of my favourite genres) for The Death of Stalin. Influences are alleged to include Shostakovich and Weinberg (the greatest composer nobody’s ever heard of).
That said, I haven’t listened to it for ages, generally preferring the originals.
Also, at the risk of flogging a dead horse, the score to “(Escape to) Victory” should have been credited as “Music by Dmitri Shostakovich ruined for this film by Bill Conti”
