The Colour Of Spring marked a great step from 80s snyth pop to more accoustic sound. It appeared to me like the most perfect pop album at the time.
One in a row of these larger than life albums like Simple Minds’ Street Fighting Years or Tears For Fears’ The Seeds Of Love.
Three of my all time favourite pop albums.
As a rough early bird in that more accousting direction might also cound Cure’s The Head On The Door as a perfect marriage of accoustics and my beloved new wave sound.
Ah, when I think about it, what a time for pop music was that!
