I did not bother with the more recent LP releases, though they certainly look cool.

Neither did I – I never joined the recent vinyl resurgence craze. My three JAWS LPs are actually all releases of the original MCA LP. The first one was a re-release I bought in the early 80s, and I remember being quite ecstatic when I found it in a record shop in Oslo. Although I was already a big Williams fan, I had no idea that any of his scores from before STAR WARS had actually been released (this was of course way before the internet, and also before I became aware of the specialty mail-order soundtrack shops in the U.S., U.K. and elsewhere).

Later I decided that I wanted to get as many of the original U.S. LP releases of his scores as possible (that’s the collector mentality for you 😉 ), so I got that, too. I also have a U.K. release of it, although now I can’t remember why I bought that one. 😀
