The first one was a re-release I bought in the early 80s, and I remember being quite ecstatic when I found it in a record shop in Oslo. Although I was already a big Williams fan, I had no idea that any of his scores from before STAR WARS had actually been released (this was of course way before the internet, and also before I became aware of the specialty mail-order soundtrack shops in the U.S., U.K. and elsewhere).

Yeah, it’s amazing how little information was out there about film music. I remember how I had to puzzle out my pathway of exploration into film music, nor knowing what was even released.
