Okay, for pop music or “cover versions” I fully understand that and would it do the same way. I meant for regular score albums as that is my priority. For classical I probably also use the recording date. Inconsequent and inconsistent actually but on scores I care more if a Goldsmith is from another year than with classicl where I don’t remember such details anyway 😉

I don’t want to mix recording dates into it, when it differs from the release date of the film. That way, I get a nice, chronological listing of the works, if I ever want to experience the evolution of a composer’s output, for example. It would be weird going through, say, Rozsa, and then playing BEN HUR after I’ve listened to DEAD MEN DON’T WEAR PLAID.
