I did sample that when it came out, but it was way too excessive for me. Plus, I somehow prefer the drier, more aggressive performance and sound on the old Rykodisc. And if I’m in the mood for a lusher, concert-like sound, I reach for my SAYONARA – ORCHESTRAL SUITES recording, which includes a generous suite. So I’m all set with TARAS, I think.

Although I like/prefer drier sound the Ryko was a bit to dry for me. Here the Tadlow is better but excessive is a good word. Generally is a bit too repeating the highlight theme “Ride to Dubno”. My favourite of that track is the Gerhardt recording. Perhaps because that is the first I knew from that score.
