The way I interpret “the religious sound”, it’s very often tied to what other people call ‘pastoral music’. So a good example is Christopher Young’s MURDER IN THE FIRST (my favourite Young score), which of course is linked to the issue of redemption. So not that far removed. Just gorgeous.
