For me, early Bond is my favourite Barry sound. Probably because of the exact same reasons that put you off, Thor.
Many of the more recent lusher Barry sound have a quality that is very interchangeable to my ears. Except for DANCES WITH WOLVES, where the thematic material, I find, is very distinctive.
