Not strictly film music, but surely music written by Anthony Hopkins (mostly in his younger years) counts as a kind of film music, at least of interest to film aficionados. This recently released album is very beautiful, in case you haven’t already noticed it. Now available in full on streaming.
And I think I would like to select the second track “Farewell My Love” as a memorial today to Dolly Parton, a wonderful human being.

Yes, it’s been brought up once or twice, in other threads, but surely deserves its own. As does Hopkins himself, my second favourite actor of all time (after Jack Nicholson, who also has a thread).
I’ve always been fascinated by his parallell career as a composer/musician, since that is very much his education as well. Like when he’s occasionally written scores, usually for his own films — AUGUST being a special favourite for me.
I did sample this album briefly a week ago, and it’s all well-written. Except maybe that cloying waltz that he did with Rieu and that is also included here. Has a nostalgic sound, a lot of it, like a warm blanket. Some melodic, some more impressionistic. Nothing terribly complex and nothing groundbreaking, but a man of pretty decent musical talent.

Yeah, weird that Rieu thing. My grandmother loved him and that was over 25 years ago… I never could stand him although it is said he is actually not a that bad violinist… But we had these kind of “easy listening orchestra” for decades
