    Julebord is always nice.

Alas, the ME Friday didn’t pan out. I was invited out to something just a few minutes after I posted that update, and stumble home now at 1:09 AM. Oh well.

Having a very ME Friday, the only one I’ll get before Christmas. Finished work duties, cleaned the apartment, cleaned myself(!), now wrapping some Christmas gifts with red wine in the glass and HOME ALONE on the stereo, I’m soon going to make a pizza from ground up and then relax the best I can for the remainder.

      Cheers!

Nice! What is the “501” book? And while I cannot read anything, I glimpse a “Sony Classical” CD in the top shelf (maybe third from right) and two Varèse Sarabande releases on the fourth shelf at the right. 🙂

It’s just a children’s book for one of my nephews.

I’m impressed you could glimpse anything in the background there, it’s rather low-res. But it reminds me we should start posting photos of our collections in the collection thread. That’s always fun.

(by the way, I dreamt last night that my entire CD collection, and all electronic equipment, had been stolen. Very traumatic. But a topic for a different occasion).

Although the world doesn’t seem to say so, I hope you’ve had a decent start of the new year on a personal level.

I’m finally unwinding with a glass of red wine after a busy week (January is always like that).

      Cheers!

        Nick out

I’m out tonight… here’s where I am right now (I’m in the picture taking the picture)… so… it seems appropriate to say and post in
        CHEERS!

Nice! I didn’t know Eros Ramazotti had his own brand of licor.

Having one of those lovely ‘home alone’ evenings again, and made this pizza from scratch. Doesn’t look like much, but it tastes excellent (I have some ‘extra ingredients’, like a certain chili sauce, that peps it up):

Goes well with the Blend No. 4 Christmas red wine IFG Pays Doc. Yes, I know, we’ve passed Christmas, but has that warmth. Surprising for a blend, I don’t usually go for those.

              At home tonight....

Saturday at home with befriended couple… cheers!

Neat. And single barrel, I see. That’s good. I had a whiskey and a cognac this weekend too, inbetween wine and beer. Three consecutive days of heavy drinking takes its toll, though, so need a week’s alcohol break now.

I haven’t posted in this thread in almost two months. While I have had some wine and beer each weekend in this period (more or less), I’m struggling with some chronic health issues (nausea, headaches, weird taste etc.) that the doctors can’t quite figure out. And that’s on top of the extreme tinnitus and everything else. So haven’t really felt the need to “cheer” anything. But I’ve decided not to let that stand in my way.

So having a beer now (in a glass that was given to me in a Newcastle pub in 2010…on the same evening I met Tall Guy for the very first time, in that very same pub). Will try some red wine afterwards, an Australian Wynward Shiraz.

Hope you’re enjoying the Easter kick-off! Many of you have presumably taken Monday-Wednesday off next week.

Just this minute opened “mini choc eggs” chocolate stout from Edinburgh’s Vault City Brewing.

                Mini Choc Eggs

Nice! (but doesn’t remind me of chocolate mini eggs)

WTF?! Never even heard of that. Sounds sickenly sweet, but I’m sure it’s better than it sounds.

You go to the doctor for your weird taste??

Probably just chronological for completeness 😉 (of course health issues are actually not funny)

It was sweet. Maybe too sweet. A can of 440ml was certainly enough!

It’s basically a summer day today, here in Oslo, with temps well above 20C. Although temperatures will plummet to normal spring temperatures tomorrow and in the next week (15C or so). But been enjoying a beer on the balcony, and now some white wine. A fairly typical Marqués de Cáceres.

I love the blossoming this time of year. All the greens come back, sure, but also colourful variants, like the neighbour’s tree with white flowers. And with the site and board back to normal speed, I can relax a bit and forget my other worries for a minute. Cheers!

We have similar temperatures today – and a public holiday extended weekend – and tomorrow it is said to get up to 27C even.

                        #10601

Yup, May 1st is a holiday here too (although often debated).

Obviously, we can’t compete with the temperatures down on the continent.

I may have missed a previous mention of this, but I was reminded by a man on the Internet the other day, that we used to have some fun and tipsy “meetings”. Will there be any more? Thor, can you/ do you want to arrange one? If not, could we do one using Google Meet? I use that for work, but only for one-to-one stuff. Not sure what the limit is. Anyway, it’s Sunday, so I have to take the grandson out for his pre-lunch snifters. 18 months old and he’s taking quite well to mixes of dark and piss-yellow vermouths. Cheers!

Unless I am not mistaken: Google Meet allows up to 100 people but with an one hour limit. One-to-one has no time limit.

                            #11160

Yes, Graham, the meetings were always supposed to return. But life has given me left hooks and right hooks for the last year, so I’ve simply not had the mental or physical energy to do it. But they will happen.

If you have a Premium Google Meet account via your work (without time limitations), I might ask to borrow that from you when the time comes.

Now we’re in a Beach restaurant, “Parnassia aan Zee”, in the Netherlands… watching the sun slowly going towards the ocean…

It’s now going towards eight thirty p.m.

                              Cheers!

Aperol Spritz, yes, though that’s Nicole’s, mine was the beer.
Didn’t I posts this elsewhere? Seems to fit in here fine though.

Yes, I took the liberty to move it here, because this thread needs more activity. If this place is a pub, this is the only place where drinks are being served. 🙂
