I caved!
I pre-ordered, fearing it would sell out. I combined it with Elfman’s BEETLEJUICE BEETLEJUICE, and since the shipping then was only €2 more, the cost per CD was tolerable. Still very expensive (I’m looking at about €25-30 per CD when customs is paid), but it is what it is. We’re living in crazy times, and it’s an expensive hobby. I’ll have to eat bread for dinner for a week.
I just pre-ordered it also. For what may be the last Williams/Spielberg collab (though I don’t like to think about it), it seemed like a special memento to have a physical copy. And of course, I do hope the music is stunning too. I do listen to my soundtracks on CD in the evenings a few times a week, so I hope to get good use out of it. 🙂

I didn’t order the CD. While the price for the CD itself is okay, the shipping will probably the same insane amount as for Thor. Sadly the usability of the Waxwork site does advertise “low inernational shipping” in scroll banner on top, there is no info about it. I have to fill in order it to see it. The lossless download preorder on Qobuz is 12,95 Euros, so it is sadly clear what probably wins here.
Qobuz has the DISCLOSURE DAY 24bit/96kHz album for pre-order for €10.49, so that’s the route I will take.

That’s the subscriber price. For me it is 12,95 Euro for standard CD quality (which is sufficient for me). But I will wait until 7digital has it as well as they are usually cheaper.
I definitely understand going the digital route if you’re not a CD completist. I would have done the same if I wasn’t one. But I’ve been burned too many times, not picking up the CD (for whatever reason) when it was fresh and somewhat affordable, and now it goes for hundreds of dollars on the secondary market. They are basically “stuck” on my want list forever.
I would love to buy it as a CD and if it was just by a major label as usually for a Spielberg score for around 16-20 Euros I would, too.
I am in the physical media team as well. So, I ordered the CD.
This is a spectecular event for me to have a new score of John Williams for a new Spielberg movie in 2026. It actually makes my heart jump for joy. My whole soundtrack journey started with John Williams. And it is like I am 10 again and getting my first soundtrack album. I want to celebrate this. And for that I need to hold the album in my hand.I already felt that way with Dial of Destiny.
Understand that and I regret that I cannot justify those costs at the moment…

That was really madness! You wouldn’t believe something like that happening with a company like Disney who is still flooding supermarkets and gas stations with DVDs of their movies all around the world. So, they seem to have product plants and distribution channels for physical media.
In the end, I think, I paid around 35 Euro for the disc. And even though I managed to order it at the second batch it took really long to deliver.
I regret that I cannot justify those costs at the moment…

Dial of Destiny I have on CD, I remember what a mess that release tactic was… but I wanted that one on CD as I had all the other Indiana Jones scores on CD, so for that reason I decided to go the CD route there. Other than that, I don’t really “need” the CD, I don’t really play CDs anymore anyway, I’d just rip it and put in in the shelf anyway, so I’m going directly for the high-res download for Disclosure Day, which is for me the cheapest and most logical option anyway.
It was £13 on the Waxwork site for UK customers, with an additional £8 for DHL postage. That’s a bit steep for postage, but I’m used to it these days.

If there are other things to do where the cinema is at, you could always make a whole (disclosure) day out of it, to make the drive worthwhile.

That makes 14.95 + 13.95 Euros excluding custom and custom service fees. Not even the 10% off if subscribing to the newsletter does change much. It’s even cheaper to order it for 29.95 at the local soundtrackcorner who just got it listed, too.

None of these are part of VOEC, so customs come on top. So it would look like this, for me in Norway:
Waxwork: €15 (CD) + €14 (shipping) + €7.50 (25% customs) = €36.50
Chris: €30 (CD) + €8 (shipping) + €9.50 (25% customs) = €47.50
Music Box: €19.13 (CD) + €9.50 (shipping) + €7.2 (25% customs) = €35.80The tracks and snippets we’ve heard so far definitely sound promising! Hopefully this will be a more consistent and holistic effort than the rather scatterbrained DIAL OF DESTINY.
And now I don’t think I want to hear anymore until I can savour the album in full. Which I, too, just ordered from Waxwork. And yes, that’s one expensive CD…
It’s a “blind buy” for me; I have not even listened to any pre-released tracks yet. I’ll listen to the score when it comes out, and then watch the movie one day

I can’t remember the last time any additional charges were added to something I’ve ordered.
Don’t know where they disappeared to, but I’m not complaining.
It’s also cool that Varese and Mutant or Mondo have a UK shop that cuts the price and postage considerably.
Now LLL on the other hand!! Their UK post charges are ludicrous.
Intrada are the best bet for me, as long as I group 6-7 albums together, on US releases.

We’re lucky in the EU that starting July a new 3 Euro customs fee applies to anything below 150 Euro for anything coming from non EU countries.
Thor will be pleased to know that we’ve turned this thread into an FSM postal charges/where’s my order thread 😨😄
