I am rather camp archival releases. And in that regard I was especially happy with “The Torn Curtain”.

I noticed the new THE TORN CURTAIN coming out in my side vision. I think I had both the original Addison and one of the Herrmann rerecordings at some point, but not anymore. Wonder what happened to them?

I also had the John Addison Varese album on CD and the McNeely album of the rejected score in digital form. But the new release is really kind of a definitive edition for me. At last Addison’s beautiful love theme in complete form (and not faded out) and the original Herrmann recordings.

I was asked by someone editing a magazine issue on “pop music in films” recently, if there ever was a pop hit that came out of THE TORN CURTAIN? There isn’t, is there? Does it say anything about it in the liner notes, GerateWohl?

Yes, as I said over on FSM, I quite liked the film, but don’t remember much of the music. I think I even sampled it when it came out. But your recommendation makes me want to have another go.
