I have lately the problem that I often cannot edit my posts, when I find a typo or want to correct some strange wording or whatever. When I click on “edit”, the page loads anew, but I cannot edit. Happens both on mobile and desktop, so it’s not a browser or cookie issue.

No idea, sometimes the site/forum hangs a bit if you try to edit. Then only trying later helps. Editing itself has no time limit otherwise.

Unfortunately, that’s not the case for us who aren’t admins. A few hours after making a post, it’s not possible to edit. I think this is a parameter Thor adjusted a while back.

The only existing option for a editing time limit is set to unlimited. If there still is a limit occurring I have no idea where it comes from.

I just checked. I can still edit posts of mine from January. So, I don’t see any restriction.

You’re right, I missed it because on some of the posts there’s a line break before the “edit” text.

Yes, on mobile devices below a certain screen width the whole toolbar moves to a 2nd line due to space limits. This is because for admins that toolbar contains several additional links (move, split, trash, spam, unapprove). It cannot be addressed separately for admins and normal uses so the toolbar always does that.
