SigbjørnDeltakerPerhaps some of the other guys here can add your recommendations.

Thor Joachim HagaNøkkelmesterI’ll include the selections here in a Spotify Playlist during Easter. I’m a bit swamped with other things until then.

Malte MüllerNøkkelmesterWho knows, perhaps I will sign in to Spotify some time in the future, too. When I ran out of music on other channels maybe 😉
Btw, Thor, I figured two composers of your list are not really German: THe Baldenwegs are actually Swiss-Australians and Paul Haslinger is Austrian 😉

Nick ZwarDeltakerI would add GAME OF THRONES (All seasons) by Ramin Djawadi.
Really excellently scored series, with many different themes and a rich orchestral vocabulary.12. April 2025 klokken 19:22 #4436
Thor Joachim HagaNøkkelmesterGeez, I had completely forgotten that Djawadi was German. Half, at least.
12. April 2025 klokken 19:51 #4441
Nick ZwarDeltakerWell, Djawadi was born and raised in Germany, speaks fluently German and has the German citizenship, so I would qualify that as him being “fully” German. 🙂
Yes, his father is Iranian, but I don’t even think Djawadi speaks Farsi. Not even sure whether he has the Iranian citizenship? (If he had, which could be, though I never saw it mentioned, I would consider him “fully” German and “fully” Iranian though. 🙂 ).12. April 2025 klokken 22:38 #4295
GerateWohlDeltakerHi Thor,
This is a subject, that you probably know much more than I do. You already mentioned some highlights.
But when talking about german soundtracks of course Martin Böttcher must be mentioned, who was famous in the 70s for his crime TV Show scores and his music for the Western german Karl May movies. Like this:And it’s important to mention probably my personal favourite german soundtrack: Christian Bruhn’s soundtrack for the german dub version of the anime series Captain Future from the 80s.
I remember Bruhn for this and the title song of the animated Wickie series. But there he wrote just the title song. The rest of the score was by Karel Svoboda who scored a lot TV stuff for german TV in the 70s and 80s, especially for children. But he is Czech as you know, not German.
But the Captain Future soundtrack is brillant.12. April 2025 klokken 22:41 #4455
Thor Joachim HagaNøkkelmesterSadly, the Karl May clip seems to be unavailable in my region, Gerate, but the other one works. Cool stuff!

Nick ZwarDeltakerHere’s a clip of Martin Böttcher music for DER SCHATZ IM SILBERSEE, the first of the German “Karl May” Western adaptations, perhaps this is accessible?
13. April 2025 klokken 18:37 #4459
Thor Joachim HagaNøkkelmesterThat seems to be region-locked too.

SigbjørnDeltakerWorks for me.

Thor Joachim HagaNøkkelmesterWeird.

slintDeltakerI like the classics, Martin Böttcher, Peter Thomas, Erwin Halletz and Gert Wilden. I just wish there was more. Most CD released from German scores are from the mid 2000s. Almost nothing in the last 15 years.

Malte MüllerNøkkelmesterThe son of Peter Thomas is re-releasing a lot of his stuff. But not as CDs. Only occasionally as LP or digital. Changed times. And I guess German film music is a niche within the niche…
