Just came back from the new version of THE RUNNING MAN (mediocre), and that made me think of Faltermeyer’s score for the 1987 film, of course. Sadly, I couldn’t hear any references to that score in Steven Price’s new score (there might be some in the game show music itself, but it was buried underneath yelling and dialogue).

Anyway, Faltermeyer is a top favourite for me, just slightly outside the top 10. I have 13 of his albums, out of which THIEF OF HEARTS is the favourite.

    What’s your favourite?

Oh, and in case you missed it, Jon & Tim had a brief interview in 2023 with the man himself. And Jon has provided a very thorough filmography here.

Although he is nowhere in my top league I do like him. The AXEL F. singlex was probably the first film music media I bought myself as a kid. I still have it.

I will be watching the new RUNNING MAN on monday. A pity that there is no trace of HF in the film. I wouldn’t be surprised if Price hasn’t even heard the old score.

This is what HF has been doing recently:

    Wow, that was awful.

But glad he’s keeping busy, at least (and Johnny Logan, for that matter).
