Yeah, given that “everybody” wanted this score forever it surely will make it.
Haven’t contributed yet. But maybe my 15 dollars will be the rescue in the end 😉14,000 euros to go. Seems a few people really have some money left. Did anyone already contribute? I haven’t yet but might at the end.
I didn’t contribute to the Tiomkin and also to Leigh Phillips’ two first Goldsmiths.(Edit: also not the Abbott & Costello) But not because I didn’t wanted I couldn’t technically. Kickstarter does not support PayPal and didn’t had a credit card – as you know you its not that common or needed in Germany – I was just out. I still have none but my bank switched to a Visa Debit card that is also supported now.
That said I will contribute to the digital version this time only.
I thought the last Intrada album, THE CHAIRMAN, where I also supported the Kickstarter, came out just terrific. And I love the score. Excellent music.
As far as THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER is concerned, it’s a classic film; I watched it not too long ago. Some of the imagery is wonderful, the spooky silhouette of the “priest” while the children hide in the barn is timeless. As far as the music is concerned, I have to admit, it didn’t think it was a “big deal”, it sounded like a lot of film music of the time. But it’s a classic film and I wanted to support the campaign, and maybe I find something to like in the music. But I’m quite sure it won’t be another CHAIRMAN.

Yeah, I love the score – especially the main title – as well since I got the old Silva Screen version. So great to hear it in proper sound (would love to have RANSOM get the same treatment).
It’s been years if not decades that I watched NIGHT OF THE HUNTER. I had no realy memory of the score. I will support the digital tier because we are still lucky that anyone still does such re-recordings at all. Given our total niche.
Concerning The Chairman Main Title, what’s wrong with the suite on the Tadlow album of The Blue Max?
The suite is great as well and was a good appetizer. I think the sound of the Intrada is maybe a bit dryer matching the original sound more.
Good for them! I’m looking forward to sampling the score to see and hear what all the hoolabalooh is about.
The old LP with narration is on Youtube at least, haven’t really listened to it as the narration is in the way 😉
