Currently listening to Joel Goldsmith’s KULL THE CONQUEROR, and thought I would do a thread on nepotism. Well, not really, but what are some of your favourite scores by people related to famous composers/film composers?

I have a few to mention myself, but wanted to hear your thoughts first.

LOL! Yes, anything goes. Classical, pop, you name it.

I’ve heard of him, but don’t think I ever heard any works. Thanks for the link.

I’ve been following (sort of) the work of Gabriel Prokofiev in recent years, although the music has very little to do with his grandfather.

We probably could throw in a bunch of Newmans here, too 😉

If people haven’t checked it out already, I recommend NAE PASARAN! by Patrick Doyle’s son, conveninently also named Patrick Doyle (Patrick Neil Doyle, to be precise). Very nice score.

Shout-out to VESELKA from last year. Made my top 10 of the year, scored by saxophonist David Sanborn (one last film gig before his death) and Ryan Shore, Howard’s nephew.

Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, symphony Wq. 179.

Speaking of Bach….he had 20 kids. Surely, there are some living descendants today that are also composers?
