Not sure if you can watch it but there is a 2023 Molvaer concert on a local broadcaster mediathek:

I am not overly familiar with Molvaer but around 15-20 years ago I learned about him by another “Khmer” concert that was broadcasted over here. I liked that a lot, still have the the rip of it that I made.

Nice, I’ve been waiting for your Molvær review. HOPPET is fine.

I cannot emphasise enough how well a composer he is whenever he follows an ECM route, in the veins of others, as mentioned in the review.

Khmer is a perfect example of some of the strenghts against a lot of weaknesses, given the too popular influences.

Yes, I definitely get the Preisner/Karaindrou vibe you mention in your review. Of course, a score like Karaindrou’s THE BEEKEEPER was always very Molvær-like, even though it’s Garbarek on sax and not Molvær on trumpet.

Yes. I always hope such a (fuller) approach reaches a film of similar quality. Perhaps, his music with Peter Brötzmann for Grosse Freiheit is the only good example of this.
